The Charlotte Hornets failed to get past defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers in their first game on the road, losing the encounter 100-93 after failing to contain the Cavaliers in the fourth quarter. The Hornets saw their third quarter lead slip in the fourth, as the Cavaliers scored 29.
In the first quarter, Cavaliers had taken a 32-22 lead. The Hornets though made a strong comeback in the second making it 52-54. They maintained their dominance in the third quarter to further stretch the lead. However, a late Cavaliers surge saw the lead cut to a single point on 71-72. The Cavaliers wrested the initiative from then on, clinching the tie 100-93.
