It's not a film. It's real life. Two actors, Uday and Anil, jump off a helicopter into the water for a movie stunt. They end up losing their lives.
According to reports, their bodies had not been recovered till Tuesday evening. The two were shooting for the climax of the Kannada film Mastigudi at the Thippagondanahalli Reservoir near Bengaluru, along with the well-known star Duniya Vijay. He was, however, rescued as he swam to safety.
The stuntmen, though, didn’t know how to swim. Both of them had reportedly explained in interviews that they were afraid of trying what they were about to, because they weren’t confident in the water.
“I have only swum in a well where you reach the edge after two or three strokes. That’s all the swimming I know. I’ve never had practice swimming 30 feet or 60 feet lengths,” Anil said in an interview.
The filmmakers have been booked for culpable homicide.
