Brett Lee was one of the fastest bowlers in the world. His pace rarely dropped below the 145 kph mark and his fastest was a thunderbolt clocked at 161.1 kph (100.1 mph) against New Zealand in 2005.
Lee has won two World Cups under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting and was one of the forces to reckon with in the Australian side when on song. He played 221 ODIs and 76 Test matches and has notched up more than 300 wickets in both the formats. Lee was a charm off the field as well and was a big hit across the globe, especially in India. He made his Test debut against India in 1999 in Melbourne and set the stage alight with his raw pace. However, he played only 25 T20Is, taking 28 wickets.
He bid adieu to Test cricket against South Africa in 2008 and played his last One-Day International in 2012 against England. Partnering the likes of Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie, he was part of one of the most devastating bowling line-ups in the world. They were one of the prime reasons for Australia’s dominance in world cricket during the late '90s and early 2000s.
