For those living in the national capital and its neighbouring areas, the bad news shows no signs of abating quickly. Schools have been closed due to heavy smog, the economy is likely to suffer, health problems are worsening. The apocalyptic smog is so bad it has even covered the Taj Mahal.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court asked the Central government to treat the worsening air quality in the National Capital Region as an emergency, and draw up a plan to combat pollution.
