The North London derby lived up to expectation as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur shared the honours in an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal were the more dominant side in the first half as they had more of the ball and were clinical in passing it around. However, they failed to score, despite the advantage. During the closing quarters in the first half, Mesut Ozil hit a free kick, which Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer headed into his own goal to put the Gunners ahead. Arsenal went ahead as the first half came to a close.

The second half began with the Spurs more spirited in their show as they upped the ante in an already fiery encounter. Within minutes, Mousa Dembele cut into the box and was brought down by Laurent Koscielny. The referee pointed to the spot and Harry Kane, back after an injury layoff, scored the equaliser for the Spurs to make it 1-1. That remained the result at the final whistle as well which means Liverpool can go top of the table if they beat Watford later on Sunday.
