In the overcrowded world of instant videos, YouTube samurais are quick to jump on the latest trends. However, surprisingly (or perhaps, unsurprisingly) few envisage a narrative that goes against the status quo.
To Kill An Activist, a short film dedicated to murdered rationalists Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, and MM Kalburgi treads a different path. The message is loud and clear, right from the very beginning. But the fight continues. Newer activists are born with a continued uncompromising devotion to rational thinking. And forces, once again, conspire to silence these voices.
Cool and cinematic – if somewhat over-dramatised – but hardly a solution to a very complex, problematic and worrying situation.
