Over the last week, air pollution has reached alarming levels across the country. According to the Air Quality Index Network, the levels of PM 2.5 in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri had reached nearly 17 times the Indian standard. The day after Diwali, Indians on social media took to Twitter to share alarming images of a smog-filled Delhi. A similar hazardous level of pollutants was observed in Mumbai and Pune.
A UNICEF report links air pollution to the death of six lakh children globally, out of which India was one of the countries that was the worst affected.
But how exactly does PM 2.5, an air pollutant that causes harm to human beings, take over our body? The animated video above uncovers that process.
"I am PM 2.5. I have many brothers. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, every kind of heavy metal. Everyone has a weapon. In this video game, where we attack humans, we never lose," the video begins ominously.
And it only gets worse from there.
