The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex ended 11.30 points (0.04%) down in the one-hour Mahurat trading session on Sunday. The auspicious session started favourably, surging 100 points at one point, but ended lower at 27,930.21. The National Stock Exchange Nifty50 also closed lower – down 12.30 points (0.14%) – at 8,625.70.
Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Dr Reddy's Laboratories were among the biggest losers, while ONGC and Sun Pharma saw marginal gains. The annual trading session took place between 6 pm and 7 pm.The chairman and managing director of Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Motilal Oswal, said, "We expect the coming year to be very promising for the market in terms of corporate earnings, and that will be reflected in the financial barometers, ie on Nifty and Sensex," according to The Economic Times.
