An Indian beautician has been sentenced to death in Malaysia for trafficking drugs, The Star reported. Sangeeta Sharma Brahmacharimayum, 41, was caught with 1.6 kg of methamphetamine in 2013 at the domestic arrival area of Penang international airport.
She was charged under relevant sections of the country's Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which stipulates a mandatory death sentence. Judicial Commissioner Datuk Azmi Ariffin said Brahmacharimayum, who hails from Delhi, had admitted that she was aware of the drugs found in her baggage on October 7, 2013.
