India were held to a 1-1 draw by South Korea in their men's Asian Champions Trophy encounter at Kuantan, Malaysia on Saturday. India came into the match on the back of a 10-2 drubbing of Japan in their opening clash against Japan and were the clear favourites. However, South Korea were sharp defensively and did not allow space to the Indian forwards.
South Korea went ahead when India’s Rupinder Pal Singh handed the ball to his opponent and they scored an easy goal, leaving India 1-0 down in only the 11th minute. However, Lalit Upadhyay found the equaliser for India in the third quarter in the 33rd minute to draw level.
India will face Pakistan on Sunday and will hope to put in a much better performance.
