On October 12, Samajwadi Party leader Haji Ehsan Qureshi's brother Rizwan Qureshi and his two aides had assaulted the minors on the suspicion that they had stolen a mobile phone. They had allegedly called the boys to Rizwan's dairy and injected them with petrol using syringes meant for injecting cattle with medicines. They allegedly tortured another 24-year-old man as well in Ghaziabad's Loni area, according to the Hindustan Times report.
While Rizwan and one of his aides, Akil, were arrested on October 17, Nadeem surrendered in court on Tuesday. Loni Circle Officer Anil Kumar Yadav said the police had charged them for illegal confinement, causing grievous hurt by dangerous means and unnatural offences. They were also booked under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
