The big news: Hardik Pandya has a stellar debut

India produced a stellar show as they beat New Zealand by six wickets at Dharamsala on Sunday. Debutant Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli were at the forefront of India’s victory as India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match One-Day International series.

Pandya was on target with three wickets, ripping apart the Kiwi top order with other bowlers chipping in. New Zealand, who were on 65/7 at one point, scored 190 after Tom Latham top scored for the Kiwis with 79 not out with Tim Southee playing a crucial knock of 55.

Rohit Sharma (12) and Ajinkya Rahane (33) added 49 for the first wicket with Manish Pandey making 17. In the end, MS Dhoni and Kohli took India home with duo stitching a 60-run partnership. Kohli scored an unbeaten 85 with Dhoni falling on 21 owing to a run-out.
