Arsenal pipped Swansea City by the odd goal in five at the Emirates Stadium to stretch their unbeaten streak to seven Premier League matches as Theo Walcott bagged a brace for the home team.

The leading pack of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur could only manage draws as Maarten Stekelenburg saved two penalties to earn Everton a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium while Dele Alli's late equaliser gave Spurs a share of the spoils at the Hawthorns.

Chelsea notch easy win over Leicester

Antonio Conte's new-found 3-4-3 formation seems to be reaping dividends as Chelsea won a clash of former champions as they outclassed Leicester City 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa opened the scoring after seven minutes as a corner made its way to the Spaniard evading a sea of bodies in the penalty box, who made no mistake in dispatching it beyond Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Eden Hazard doubled the lead on the half-hour mark when the Belgian rounded Schmeichel to slot it home doubling Chelsea's lead in the process. David Luiz hit the frame of the goal at both ends with a first half free-kick rattling Leicester's goal; the Brazilian's attempted clearance at the other end in the second half almost resulting in an own goal.

Victor Moses was rewarded for his persistence as the winger drove forward from the right wing, exchanging passes with Nathaniel Chalobah, and driving the ball home to seal a fine victory for Conte and his Blues.

Arsenal hold on for hard-earned win

Arsene Wenger's men survived a nervy finish at the Emirates to make it 19 points out of a possible 21, and climb above rivals into second position, their goal difference of +10 just behind City on +11.

The hosts grabbed a quickfire double through Walcott who took advantage of some defending by Swansea at the back, and looked to have fired Arsenal on their way to an easy victory in Bob Bradley's first game in charge of the visitors.

Granit Xhaka's first mistake of the game saw Gylfi Sigurdsson steal the ball away from the Swiss as the Iceland midfielder made no mistake in curling his shot beyond Petr Cech.

Mesut Ozil doubled Arsenal's lead after Alexis Sanchez's cross found the German who volleyed it beyond Lukasz Fabianski at his near post. Borja Baston would reduce Swansea's arrears after a pass from Modou Barrow found the Spaniard in space inside the opposition box.

Xhaka would receive his marching orders for a poorly-timed tackle on the impressive Barrow but Arsenal's defence would hold on to give the home team a sixth win of the season.

Stekelenburg the hero for Everton

Ronald Koeman has his Dutch keeper to thank as Manchester City missed two penalties to lose their one-point lead at the top of the table as Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero missed from the spot to hand Everton a point at the Etihad.

David Silva won City's first penalty when the Spaniard was tripped by Phil Jagielka but Stekelenburg guessed right to deny de Bruyne and prevent City from taking the lead going into half-time.

Romelu Lukaku scored with a fine run and finish, turning Gael Clichy inside out, before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Claudio Bravo. Sergio Aguero, introduced on the hour mark won another penalty for the hosts but could not put it past Stekelenburg.

Nolito, did manage to equalise for City as the Everton custodian could do nothing about the Spaniard's header.

Spurs drop points at the Hawthorns

Tottenham Hotspurs were uncharacteristically sluggish in their match against West Bromwich Albion as Mauricio Pochettino's men dropped a spot to third in the table, a point behind City and Arsenal.

Nacer Chadli continued his fine form in front of goal, scoring his fifth goal of the campaign to give Albion a lead in the 82nd minute.
