Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Friday assured a man from Jodhpur that her department would help his Pakistan-based fiancée get a visa for their wedding, which is a month away. The Indian Army announced that it launched surgical strikes along the the Line of Control with Pakistan.
Tewani claimed that the Indian embassy in Karachi had failed to issue the required travel documents to for his fiancée Priya Bachchani and her family. He also sent a tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tewani met his partner through his father. His father said, "It was my long-cherished dream to have a Pakistani bride for my son since my visit to Pakistan in 2001, considering the resemblance in culture and traditions between the two countries."
