Bangladesh threw away the first One Day International at Mirpur on Friday from the jaws of victory to lose to England by 21 runs, losing their last six wickets in the space of just 39 balls.
Jos Buttler, in his first game as England skipper, elected to bat first and the visitors posted a par score of 309/8, through Ben Stokes' (110) and debutant Ben Duckett (60) who put on a partnership of 153 runs.
In reply, the brilliant Imrul Kayes (112) and a belligerent Shakib Al Hasan (79 from 55) put Bangladesh on course before Jake Ball's 5/51 on debut landed England a dramatic win.
