At least three people were killed in a fire that broke out at an illegal gas cylinder storehouse in Kolkata's Tangra locality on Thursday, The Financial Express reported. Several people were injured in the blaze, and city officials fear many are trapped in the building near China Town. The owner of the storehouse is believed to have died in the fire.
An official said firefighters were "trying their best to control" the blaze, ANI reported. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. Residents of the highly congested neighbourhood expressed fears of the flames spreading to their homes.
