India's Viswanathan Anand remained in fifth position in the Tal Memorial tournament table after playing out a ½ - ½ draw with Russia's Peter Svidler in Round 7 in Moscow on Tuesday.
All other matches in the round were also drawn, which means Anand remained in fifth position with 4/7 points. Russia's Vladmir Kramnik (third) and Armenia's Levon Aronian (fourth) also have the same points, but are ranked higher because of their rating.
Anand next faces a tough battle against Russia's Ian Nepomniachtchi in Round 8 on Wednesday. Nepomniachtchi is currently on top of the table with 5/7 points.
