Mexican racer Sergio Perez confirmed on Sunday that he will continue at Sahara Force India for the 2017 season, making it his fourth-straight season with the United Kingdom-based Formula One racing team.
"I’m very happy with this team and I have a good feeling for the future. I’ve seen the progress we’ve made over last couple of years and I’m sure we have the potential to achieve even more going forward," said Perez, in a statement. "The team knows me well and it’s important to have stability, especially with some big rule changes planned for next year. I’m excited for the rest of this season and for the challenge that awaits all of us in 2017."
Perez was dropped by McLaren in 2013 but has done well at Force India. He has had two third-place finishes in the current season and his haul of 74 points has helped his team to fourth place in the constructor's standings. The Mexican racer is currently eighth on the drivers' championship.
