Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly has said that the pitch at Eden Gardens, which hosts the second Test between India and New Zealand, is not going to turn much because "there is too much moisture and this is the first match of the season". The pitch was under cover all day on Tuesday and hence is expected to be on the damper side, reported The Times of India.

"So unless something happens in the last two days, I don't see a lot of turn in the pitch," said Ganguly. However, rain could play spoilsport during the Test match. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thundershowers and thunderstorms on the first four days of the match. According to IMD data, there would also be a thunderstorm with rain on the two days preceding the game.
