Sania Mirza and her Czech Republic doubles partner Barbora Strycova beat Chinese pair Chen Liang and Zhaoxuan Yang in straight sets of 6-1, 6-1 in the Pan Pacific Open final on Saturday. This is their second title after they teamed up in August. The duo won the Cincinatti Open last month.
The Indo-Czech duo had a sluggish win in the semi-final, beating Gabriela Dabrowski and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 in a tie-break.
The Pan Pacific win caps Mirza's third Japan Open title in fours years, having previously won the trophy in 2013 and in 2014 with Cara Black. This is also the doubles world No. 1 player's eighth title win in 2016, which includes an Australian Open win with Martina Hingis, before Mirza parted ways with her.
