Navtej Sarna was appointed the Indian high commissioner to the United States on Thursday, reported IANS. The 1980-batch Indian Foreign Service officer was previously the country's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He will succeed Arun Kumar Singh, reported Hindustan Times.
The External Affairs Ministry said he is expected to take up the assignment shortly. He was the ministry’s spokesperson between 2002 and 2008.
