The big news: Anderson returns for India tour

All-rounder Corey Anderson was named in New Zealand's One-Day International squad for the five-match series against India staring on October 16 in Dharamsala. New Zealand Cricket said that Anderson will play as a specialist batsman in the series. The 25-year-old has not played at all after being injured during the World T20 in India in March this year. He suffered a back injury, which saw him miss New Zealand's series against Zimbabwe and South Africa.

New Zealand also brought in batsman Anton Devcich and wicketkeeper BJ Watling for the ODI series. All-rounder James Neesham also made the cut. Tim Southee, who was ruled out of the Test series after injuring his ankle, was named in the 15-member ODI squad.
