Fourteen-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal termed Indian tennis doubles legend Leander Paes as "one of the best players in the history of the sport" on Sunday, according to PTI. Nadal made this comment after he and his partner Marc Lopez defeated the Indian duo of Paes and Saketh Myneni in their Davis Cup doubles encounter on Saturday.
"He (Leander) played a great match. It was so amazing tonight, it is a pleasure to play him here in his country. He is one of the biggest stars of doubles and one of the best player in the history of the sport," said the Spaniard.
Nadal and Lopez defeated Paes and Myneni 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4, 6-4 in a thriller to give Spain an unassailable 2-0 lead in their Davis Cup tie against India which put them through to the World Group.
