Nico Rosberg took pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix as he topped Qualifying on Saturday. Rosberg pipped Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who finished third, with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo sealing a front-row starting berth for the race alongside the German. Hamilton, the defending champion, was made to pay for a mistake on his flying lap, while Rosberg recorded the fastest ever pole lap at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Rosberg is two points behind Hamilton on the leaderboard and a win on Sunday will put him ahead of the Briton, who has already had two torrid days in Singapore already. Rosberg was in sublime form as he took Q3 with a time of 1.42.584. Ricciardo came in at 1.43.115, while Hamilton recorded 1.43.288. Rosberg will look for his eighth Grand Prix win this season on Sunday.
