She's an ordinary woman with an extraordinary imagination. She wears what she likes and doesn't give a damn about being plump. Meet Moti. She's only a cartoon character but has won a following across the globe.
While studying in New York for a degree in illustration, Kripa Joshi, who was born and brought up in Nepal, dreamt up Miss Moti to overcome insecurities she had about her own bodyweight.
Joshi's comics mix the everyday with the fantastic. In a popular strip titled Miss Moti and Cotton Candy, Moti is overwhelmed with the never-ending spiral of stairs in front of her. But thankfully, a giant cloud made of cotton candy shows up to rescue her.
After an appearance in two short stories, Miss Moti-vation provides inspiration on Joshi's social media account every Monday.
