World No. 5 Rafael Nadal has pulled out of Spain's Davis Cup World Group Play-off singles match against India's Ramkumar Ramanathan barely an hour before the game's scheduled start owing to a stomach infection, reported NDTV. Nadal was set to take the court against the 203rd-ranked Ramkumar Ramanathan at Delhi's RK Khanna Stadium on Friday at 5 pm. Feliciano Lopez, ranked 26th in the world, will replace the 14-time Grand Slam champion in Friday's match.
However, if Nadal recovers in time, he could play the reverse singles against Saketh Myneni on Sunday. The second singles rubber is supposed to be played between Myneni and David Ferrer according to the original line-up.
