Five men allegedly gangraped two teenagers in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Wednesday, reported The Indian Express. The incident took place around 6 pm in a field near a government park, where the women – who are 18 and 19 years old – had gone with two friends.
A investigating officer said, “The women and their friends [both young men] were chatting when the accused arrived and misbehaved with the girls. When the friends objected, the accused assaulted and overpowered them. Then they raped the women in front of them.” One of the friends called the police later, though the perpetrators had fled the scene by then.
Th police have caught four men in connection with the case. Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Vikramjit Singh said their identities cannot be revealed because the police is still verifying their ages. The fifth accused is still missing. The police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint filed by the women. Both the complainants work in a factory.
