Indian swimmer Suyash Jadhav ended his Rio Paralympics campaign on a disappointing note after failing to qualify for the final of the men's 200-metre individual medley SM7 event early on Wednesday IST. The 22-year-old finished sixth and last in Heat 2 with a timing of three minutes and 1.05 seconds. The United States' Rudy Garcia-Tolson won the heat with 2:43.26. The top four finishers from the heat qualified for the final. The SM7 category is for swimmers with physical impairments.
Jadhav was 10th in the overall standings among 12 swimmers, with Colombian Carlos Serrano being the fastest with a timing of 2:40.58. The Indian's Paralympics campaign was thus over with this loss. He had earlier failed to qualify for the finals of the men's 50-metre freestyle and butterfly events.
