England's One-Day International captain Eoin Morgan pulled out of the team's upcoming Bangladesh tour owing to security concerns, the English Cricket Board confirmed on Sunday. Batsman Alex Hales also followed his captain in ruling himself out of the tour for the same reason. England are due to travel to Bangladesh to play two Tests and three ODIs in October.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler will lead the side in the absence of Morgan, the ECB said. Morgan and Hales were skeptical of travelling to Bangladesh after the recent terrorist attack in July that killed around 20 people. The duo told England’s director of cricket, Andrew Strauss, about their decision and, now, the squad selection will take place on Friday.
