The big story: Barcelona lose but Guardiola is smiling
Barcelona were beaten at the Nou Camp by newly promoted Alaves in their La Liga clash on Satuday as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta started from the bench. However, after two back-to-back wins, Barcelona succumbed to their first defeat with Alaves winning 2-1. Brazil’s Deyverson opened the scoring for Alaves sending the home fans to silence. However, Jeremy Mathieu scored the equaliser from a Neymar corner. Alaves hit back with Ibai Gomez netting the second to leave Barcelona struggling.
In the Premier League, Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford. Pep Guardiola was at his tactical best as City looked in great form, leaving United manager Jose Mourinho frustrated on the sidelines. Kevin de Bruyne and Kelechi Ilheanacho scored for City and Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled one back for United.
