The wife of Rajasthan Chief Secretary Om Prakash Meena has accused him of molesting their daughter when she was 13 years old, reported Hindustan Times. Geeta Singhdeo, who is the additional director of public services, has filed a case of violence and cruelty against her estranged husband. The daughter has also filed a case seeking maintenance from her father. The couple has been living apart for the past two years.

According to an email by Singhdeo's daughter, who is now 31, "My father has always treated me as a burden and for every single rupee he spent on me, he has abused me and mistreated me physically. My father molested me when I was 13 years old, in school, I am so ashamed to say that he used to come into my room and touch me at wrong places, he used to put his hands under my skirt and inside my shirt. My father used to kiss me on my lips and press my chest against his own many times. I had gone through this obscene treatment for almost two years not knowing what to do and who to tell; I used to cry all night." She said the molestation stopped after she told her mother about it.

The woman, who is based out of Cardiff in the United Kingdom, has given permission for the email to be used as her official statement in court against her father. It was sent in April. Singhdeo said she was forced to make the email public beacuse the investigation in the case was not going anywhere. Meena has denied all the allegations levelled against him. "There were dowry allegations, there was a maintenance case, there was a violence case, and now this. You should ask them if this is their final allegation or if there are some more, since these come in bits and pieces," he told The Indian Express.

In 2014, the State Commission for Women told Meena to treat his wife with respect and pay for the living and education cost of his daughter. However, when he did not follow the commission's instructions, Singheo moved court against him. Her daughter has also said that she was witness to several incidents where Meena physically abused her mother.

"[He] and his family have bashed and brutally beaten my mother… over 25 years. My father has hit my mother in the face, kicked her in the stomach and on her back, thrown her against the wall and bashed her head on to the wall, fractured her hand twice… I have witnessed my father’s inhuman, criminal offence, and shameful behaviour," she wrote in the email. Seeking help, Singhdeo has written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Commission of Women. She has also demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the case.
