Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah has formed a five-member team that will investigate the "growing incidents of attack" on party members in Kerala, reported PTI. The team, headed by BJP General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav, will visit the state and submit a report on the matter to Shah. The other members of the committee are party MPs Meenakshi Lekhi, Anant Hegde, Nalin Kateel and BJP National Secretary and Kerala in-charge H Raja.
The step comes after a crude bomb was hurled at the BJP office in Thiruvananthapuram on September 6. The Kannur district of Kerala has witnessed political murders in the past two months. In July, a party worker in the district was killed in his own house when some men hurled a crude bomb and then hacked him to death. The BJP has accused the Communist Party of India for the attacks. The Left party is part of the ruling Left Democratic Front government in the state,
