A fire broke out at a Walmart wholesale store near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday, PTI reported. According to India Today, property worth several crore rupees was lost in the fire. In a statement, the company said no employees were injured in the fire that officials thought was caused by a short circuit.
A Walmart spokesperson said the company was assessing the damage to the store, which is one of 21 Best Price wholesale stores run by the company in India. The fire also caused a traffic jam along National Highway 16, one that connects Vijayawada to Eluru.
