A video showing a six-year-old girl, Sarah Patel, attempting to stop armed robbers from raiding her father’s shop in New Zealand, went viral on Thursday. PTI reported that Sarah, who is Indian, risked her life by catching hold of one of the culprit’s legs as he tried to attack an employee at the electronic store.
CCTV footage of the crime, which took place on September 5 in Auckland, shows the girl being pushed aside by one of the robbers. Television New Zealand quoted her father, Suhail Patel as saying she was dazed by the robbery, but was on stress-relieving medication.
According to a report by The New Zealand Herald, Sarah said she she was not scared of the armed robbers and "just wanted to stop the hitting". Five of the six accused have been arrested.
