The mixed doubles duo of N Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra clinched the Brazil Open Grand Prix title with a straight game victory over the Canadian pair of Toby Ng and Rachel Honderich in Foz do Iguaçu on Sunday. The top-seeded Indian duo, ranked 65th in the world, beat the Canadian team, 21-15, 21-16.
This was Reddy and Chopra's maiden Grand Prix title and they wrapped up the final in only 37 minutes. In the semi-final, they beat Fabian Holzer and Barbara Bellenberg of Germany 21-18, 21-15.
In the men's singles draw, Anand Pawar finished second, after a tight loss in the final against the top-seeded Zulfadli Zulkiffli of Malaysia. Pawar won the first game but lost the next two games as Zulkiffli won 18-21, 21-11, 21-17.
