England began their era under new manager Sam Allardyce with a 1-0 win over Slovakia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday. However, the victory wasn’t an easy one as Liverpool’s Adam Lallana scored in injury time in the second half to secure the win. England's next match will be on home turf when they face Malta in another 2018 World Cup qualifier on October 8.
The Three Lions failed to get past a stubborn defence in a match that saw Slovakia captain Martin Skrtel being sent off in the second half after two yellow card offences against Harry Kane. However, there were many flaws in the England attack and Allardyce must have taken notes on the areas he has to work on before their next encounter.
