The Indian men's football team, ranked 152nd in the world beat Puerto Rico 4-1 in a friendly at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on Saturday. Puerto Rico are ranked 38 places above India, at 114th place in the FIFA rankings.
Puerto Rico started the game well when Jackichand Singh brought a Puerto Rican player down in the box and conceded a penalty. Emanuel Sanchez scored with the resulting penalty to hand the visitors the lead in the eighth minute.
Narayan Das equalised in the 18th minute when a Sunil Chhetri free-kick bounced off the post. Later, another Chhetri free-kick in the 26th minute gave India the lead.
Goals by Jeje Lalpekhlua in the 34th minute and Jackichand Singh in the 58th minute increased the lead to make it a comfortable win for India.
