Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton put in a dominating performance on Saturday to take pole position at qualifying in the Italian Grand Prix, equalling legends Ayrton Senna and Juan Manuel Fangio for five pole positions at Monza.
The championship leader finished three-tenths of a second quicker than his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in Q1 and increased that lead by almost half a second at the end, finishing with a time of 1:21.135. Rosberg came second with a timing of 1:21.613 while Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen came third and fourth respectively with timings of 1:21.972 and 1:22.065, respectively.
Hamilton led the pace right from Q1 and breezed to a comfortable pole. He currently leads the world championship table by nine points.
