A car bomb explosion at the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek on Tuesday left at least three injured, the Central Asian country's Health Ministry said. The vehicle was driven into the consulate's gate before it blew up and killed the driver, Reuters reported. Officials confirmed that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber, according to AP.
Security forces are investigating the explosion. A representative of the local Emergency Ministry said they could not confirm the number of fatalities right away, and the exact number was "being verified", according to Al Jazeera. The nearby Chinese Embassy and nearby American Embassy were both immediately evacuated, as well as residences close to the area.
