An aircraft from Pakistan on Monday reportedly violated Indian airspace as it flew over Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pura Sector for about a minute. A Border Security Force officer reportedly noticed the aircraft around 1.05 pm and informed his seniors that the six-winged jet was not part of the Indian Air Force fleet. "The IAF was immediately informed by seniors so its location, route and other details could be assessed through radars," according to the The Times of India.

While it is unclear whether the aircraft was a drone or manned, it is suspected to have been on a reconnaissance assignment, Hindustan Times reported. It has also not been confirmed whether it was a Pakistani Army jet or belonged to some other force. Officials explained that both India and Pakistan usually maintain a distance of 4-5 km over the other country's airspace along the International Border to avoid violations.
