Expelled All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Rajya Sabha legislator Sasikala Pushpa on Monday said she will not resign from the House, PTI reported. Pushpa, her son Pradeep Raja and husband Lingeswara Thilagam, are facing charges of ill-treatment and sexual harassment from their domestic aide.

Pushpa said, "There is no question of my resignation from the Rajya Sabha.” The former mayor of Tuticorin said she will make an appearance before the Madras High Court’s Madurai bench to defend herself against allegations that she fraudulently filed an anticipatory bail application without being in the state. The complainant had also alleged that the family threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the ill-treatment being meted out to her.

The Supreme Court had granted her protection from arrest for six weeks from August 26, but ordered her to comply with the High Court’s summons. Pushpa was expelled from the AIADMK after she was involved in a scuffle with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Member of Parliament Siva and also for indulging in "anti-party activities".
