National Security Guard chief RC Tayal on Tuesday said that an unexploded shell was found at an office of the Defence Research and Development Organisation in Delhi in April. Tayal said that the shell, which was later deactivated, was found during a construction operation at the office in North Delhi, according to NDTV.
The NSG said that the ordnance discovered at DRDO’s Metcalfe House office was a “120-millimetre artillery shell”. Two more empty shells were also found along with the live one, according to a statement issued by the security force. A bomb squad of the NSG, which was called in to investigate the situation by the Delhi Police, later deactivated the shell in a facility on the outskirts of Delhi.
