Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh created chaos in the Assembly on Tuesday, protesting against the current law and order situation in the state. While Bharatiya Janata Party leaders staged a walkout, MLAs of the Bahujan Samaj Party continued to protest, ANI reported.
All Opposition leaders were asked to leave the House for causing a commotion, standing as a united front against the ruling Samajwadi Party government, India Today reported. Marshals were used to remove legislators from the Assembly premises.
The Uttar Pradesh government has been at the receiving end of criticism for its handling of a number of cases, including the recent gangrape of a woman and her teenage daughter in Bulandshahr district and a number of other such assaults on girls and women in the state.
