After Dipika Pallikal won the Australian Open title on August 12, India made a handsome return at the just concluded World Doubles Squash Championships in Darwin. The mixed doubles pair of Saurav Ghoshal and Dipika Pallikal won silver in the mixed doubles competition after going down 8-11 8-11 to New Zealand's Paul Coll and Joelle King in the final.
But that was not all. Pallikal and Ghoshal had reached the final by defeating their compatriots Joshna Chinappa and Harpinder Pal Singh Sandhu 10-11 11-7 11-6 in the semi-finals. Which meant Chinappa and Sandhu got the bronze medal as losing semi-finalists.
Wait, there is more. The Indian women's doubles pair of Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal finished with a bronze after they went down 5-11 10-11 to the Australian duo of Rachael Grinham and Donna Urquhart.
PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik are doing wonders over in Rio but in another part of the world, India's squash players are surely keeping the flag flying high.
