The match was in the balance in the last game. At 15-11, it was Marin who had the upper hand. Placement reigned supreme from thereon. With both players losing steam, Sindhu strategically went low on Marin's left through her cross-court smashes. There were also a few unforced errors in the final stages that plotted the world No. 1's downfall.
