Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat won her opening bout of the women's freestyle 48 kg tournament of the Rio Olympics by technical superiority, after leading Romania's Emilia Alina Vuc by a scoreline of 10-0 on Wednesday.
It wasn't a great start for the 21-year-old Indian, who seemed to have twisted her elbow in the first 20 seconds of the bout. However, Phogat brushed it off and won in emphatic fashion, never allowing her opponent even a whiff of an advantage. Phogat is through to the quarter-finals, which will be held on Wednesday at 8.06 pm IST.
