Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday met outgoing President of Pakistani-occupied Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and reassured him that his government will continue to support the “indigenous freedom struggle” of Kashmiri people. He also lauded Khan for "upholding the democratic system” in PoK during his tenure, reported PTI.
Amid this, Sharif once again said that Kashmir is an international issue and that the world needs to take stock of the civilians’ plight. He added that “unarmed innocent Kashmiris” are fighting for their right to freedom.
Sharif has appointed Raja Farooq Haider Prime Minister of PoK and Masood Khan as the President after his party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz won, majority seats in the July 21 elections.
