Indian shuttler Srikanth Kidambi defeated Denmark’s Jan Jorgensen 21-19 21-19 to move into the quarter-finals of the badminton men's singles event.
It was an evenly fought contest as Kidambi matched Jorgensen, ranked fifth in the world, for every shot. Kidambi was on the offensive, looking to smash at every opportunity, and won the first set 21-19. In a close second game, Jorgensen took the lead but the 23-year-old kept his composure to take the second game as well, pulling off an incredible upset.
Kidambi will face China's Lin Dan in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
