Indian triple jumper Renjith Maheswary failed to qualify for the finals of the men's triple jump event. He finished 30th out of a field of 50 jumpers at the qualification stage.
Maheshwary clocked his highest jump of 16.13 metre in his second attempt, assisted with a wind speed of over 0.5 metre per second.
His first attempt was a 15.80 metre jump and was not wind assisted. Neither was his third jump where he managed 15.99 metre.
Maheshwary is the holder of the current national record with a distance of 17.30 metre, which he set earlier this year.
Christian Taylor of the United States finished highest in the qualifiers with a jump of a wind-assisted 17.24 metre.
