The fourth-seeded Indian pairing of Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza lost 1-6 5-7 to Lucie Hradecka and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic in the bronze medal play-off match of the mixed doubles tournament of the 2016 Rio Olympics on Sunday.
The Indian pairing was over-run in the first set by their opponents, as Mirza and Bopanna were broken once each en route to losing it 1-6.
Bopanna was broken a further two times in the second set, but Mirza attacked Hradecka's serve as the score was tied at 5-5. Mirza was then broken in the next game and Hradecka served it out to give the Czech pair the set and the match.
